S. Anni Skurja, LMFT-S

You’re not too much, not too far gone, and not in this alone.

LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST

My Statement

Sometimes life leaves us feeling like we’re too much, not enough, or just fundamentally broken. You might be stuck in constant worry, self-doubt, or hopelessness—pulling away from people even when what you really want is connection. And the harder you try to push those feelings down or get rid of them, the more they seem to take over.

Therapy isn’t about becoming someone else—it’s about getting honest with yourself, understanding what’s actually driving those patterns, and learning how to handle the hard stuff without losing yourself in it. Together, we’ll sort through the mess and help you build the kind of stability and self-trust that lasts. This work can be uncomfortable, but avoiding it hasn’t helped either. You don’t have to face it alone—we’re here to do the hard stuff with you.

Treatment Approach

Anni’s clinical approach blends polyvagal theory, systems theory, and CBT-based practices to help clients better understand their nervous system responses, thought patterns, and relationship dynamics. She is a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional and specializes in helping clients navigate chronic worry, emotional overwhelm, and attachment-related challenges. In her work with couples, Anni integrates Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) principles with Gottman-informed language to support deeper emotional connection and more effective communication.

Education and Experience

Anni Skurja is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of Phoenix Rising Behavioral Health in Senoia, Georgia. She earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University and has been working in clinical, supervisory, and leadership roles since 2018.

Across her roles, she’s focused on bridging the gap between ethical care, accessibility, and the realities of sustainable practice—for both clients and clinicians.
