S. Anni Skurja, LMFT-S
You’re not too much, not too far gone, and not in this alone.
LICENSED MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST
My Statement
Sometimes life leaves us feeling like we’re too much, not enough, or just fundamentally broken. You might be stuck in constant worry, self-doubt, or hopelessness—pulling away from people even when what you really want is connection. And the harder you try to push those feelings down or get rid of them, the more they seem to take over.
Therapy isn’t about becoming someone else—it’s about getting honest with yourself, understanding what’s actually driving those patterns, and learning how to handle the hard stuff without losing yourself in it. Together, we’ll sort through the mess and help you build the kind of stability and self-trust that lasts. This work can be uncomfortable, but avoiding it hasn’t helped either. You don’t have to face it alone—we’re here to do the hard stuff with you.
Treatment Approach
Anni’s clinical approach is rooted in systems theory and integrates somatic principles to support meaningful, sustainable change. Her work draws from polyvagal-informed perspectives, CBT-based practices, and somatic EMDR to help clients understand how nervous system responses, thought patterns, and relational dynamics interact. She is a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional and specializes in working with chronic anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and attachment-related challenges.
Anni works with individuals, couples, and families, and finds it valuable to bring in the voices and relationships that are part of a client’s life. She focuses on patterns of connection, communication, and emotional safety, exploring family dynamics to understand how relational history shapes present interactions. She also incorporates polyvagal theory to support understanding and reduction of emotional dysregulation. Her approach helps clients build awareness, shift patterns, and engage in more secure and effective ways of relating.
